Rhinoplasty - Nose Reshaping
In the center of the face is the nose which shape and contour has a large effect on your appearance. The nose holds this special place and we at Dr. Cuvo’s clinic give Rhinoplasty a special consideration. There are many types of Rhinoplasty or nose reshaping. Asians commonly need an implant or something to build up the bridge of the nose. This is known as an augmentation rhinoplasty. The opposite is true for Caucasians, Middle Easterners and Indians who typically need a reduction rhinoplasty.
The Asian rhinoplasty may require supplemental cartilage or a silicone implant. This is because the bridge of the nose can be very flat. To make for a beautiful profile the bridge has to be build up to make it “high”. This can be done under local anesthesia and may take 7 to 10 days to be seen in public again. Small amount of bruising may be seen.
The Caucasian rhinoplasty is typically accomplished by reshaping of he nasal cartilages. The Western , Indian and Middle Eastern noses typically have adequate cartilage and many times too much so some is removed and reshaped. So this can be accomplished with either open or closed techniques. The open technique involves a small cut on the columenella which is nearly invisible. The closed technique is through and incision on the inside of the nose and you cannot see that.
Dr. Cuvo also offers a nonsurgical nasal reshaping using fillers (injections) which can add to the bridge of the nose and also lift the tip. Although not permanent these nonsurgical rhinoplasty technique can do quite a bit to improve your appearance. The advantage of course is you may return to work soon with in a day. There is little risk and very little discomfort.
No matter what option you choose for nasal reshaping Dr. Cuvo and his Tokyo Ginza clinic staff are here to serve your needs. Call today and make appointment you will not regret.
